Personal Data Privacy Policy
How Taleown processes customer details, information about children, photos, books and account data.
Version dated November 1, 2026
1. General provisions
This Policy sets out how the personal data of users of https://taleown.com and available official Taleown applications is processed and protected.
The Policy applies when visiting the Website, creating a book or order, uploading a child’s photo, receiving a preview, using the library, paying for an available Plan, downloading available files and contacting support.
The Policy has been prepared with reference to Federal Law No. 152-FZ of July 27, 2006, “On Personal Data,” and applicable requirements of the laws of the Russian Federation.
2. Personal data operator
The personal data operator is the owner of the Taleown service.
- Operator’s full name: Sergey Sergeevich Kayukov (Каюков Сергей Сергеевич).
- Status: self-employed taxpayer under the professional income tax regime (NPD).
- Taxpayer Identification Number (INN): 772880246500.
- Email for personal data inquiries: taleown@kayukov.com.
- Website: https://taleown.com.
3. Categories of data processed
Depending on how the service is used, the Operator may process the following data:
- the child’s name, age, gender, selected interests, book parameters and story preferences entered by the user, as well as information about additional characters in the selected mode;
- photos of the child and, where the selected story mode provides for them, photos of one or two companions; the number of characters and whether particular photos are required are shown in the form;
- the customer’s email address; an email address is required for every book in the web creation form;
- account, session, book and order identifiers, and information about signing in and restoring access;
- the selected Plan, applicable terms, payment information where payment is available, and the book creation status;
- the text, cover, illustrations, available book files and associated source materials;
- confirmation of acceptance of the legal terms and a separate confirmation of consent to photo processing when a photo is uploaded;
- IP address, technical cookies and local identifiers, information about the browser, device and interface operation; analytics and marketing identifiers only with the corresponding consent;
- the contents of support inquiries and information voluntarily provided in them.
The Operator does not request passport details, medical information, special categories of personal data or full bank card details. Do not include such information in story preferences or inquiries unless necessary.
4. Account, library and official applications
The Policy applies to available official Taleown applications and the server-based book creation system shared with the Website. Processing of customer details, information about the child, photos and generated output is subject to this Policy regardless of the interface used.
Signing in and restoring access use email verified by a one-time code. A verified email address allows the shared library to be used across devices. Email and technical identifiers of the account, session and associated books are processed for authorization and access.
The user selects a photo through the device’s system interface; only the selected image is uploaded to the service, not the entire gallery. It is processed under a separate consent. Page images may be temporarily stored on the device for reading; files downloaded by the user and copies shared with other applications or loved ones remain with the relevant recipients.
Removing the Application from a device does not delete the account or the server-side library. Individual books can be deleted in the web library. Deletion of the entire account and associated data is requested by email at taleown@kayukov.com; there is no separate account deletion button in the web settings. Copies previously downloaded by recipients are not automatically deleted.
5. Book readiness and email notifications
A required email address is provided when a book is created through the web interface. The service uses it to communicate with the customer, send messages about progress on the book and provide access to the output in the available workflow.
Certain additional book update emails depend on the setting selected by the user and verification of the email address with a one-time code, if requested. Available settings are shown in the interface.
Delivery depends on the email provider, mailbox settings and network connection. The absence of an email does not in itself cancel the Book: its status can be checked in the library or clarified with support.
6. Service messages and settings
Email is used for one-time sign-in and access recovery codes, technical messages about the Book and replies to inquiries. These messages are not promotional mailings.
Choosing analytics or marketing cookies does not subscribe the user to promotional emails. Consent to additional book updates and their delivery settings are managed separately from messages required for signing in, security and fulfilling the request.
The technical link between the email address, account and Book is needed for authorization, library recovery, matching requests and delivering service messages. Opting out of optional updates does not delete the Book or end access to the library.
7. Processing purposes
Personal data is processed for the following purposes:
- creating personalized story text;
- creating artistic illustrations with the child as the character reference based on the parameters provided and, where uploaded, photos;
- creating previews, complete books and available files;
- processing payments through the selected available payment provider, if the order is paid, and confirming the corresponding access;
- providing the output and system notifications to the customer’s email address;
- one-time-code sign-in, access recovery and operation of the shared library across devices;
- sending additional book updates separately selected by the user;
- technical support, handling inquiries and deleting data on request;
- error diagnosis, security and prevention of abuse;
- analytics and marketing technologies only within the user’s separate choices;
- compliance with the laws of the Russian Federation.
8. Private links and book access
Access to the library, Book and order may use technical identifiers and private links. They are used to match a request to the relevant Book or account and are not intended for public distribution.
Do not share sign-in codes, session details or private order or library links with third parties. A completed book file may be shared with loved ones for personal and family purposes within the scope of the license offer.
A private link alone does not give access to the Book: the owner must be authenticated. Do not publish such a link or share means of signing in with other people.
9. Children’s photos
An uploaded photo is used to create the user’s particular Book and is not published by the Operator on the Website in examples or advertisements without separate consent.
Photos and other source materials associated with a Book may be stored with it in the library until deletion. Completed text, illustrations and files are also retained in the library until deletion in accordance with the available settings and this Policy.
Cleanup of unassociated uploads selects materials older than 24 hours. Technical cleanup runs when the relevant server process starts and then approximately once an hour; this does not establish a guaranteed deletion period for a photo associated with a Book.
For generation, data may be sent through an AI gateway to external providers. Their actual retention periods and use of data for training have not been confirmed. Taleown does not promise that providers will neither retain data nor use it for training.
10. Legal grounds
Processing is based on the user’s consent, fulfillment of the user’s request and contract, the Operator’s legitimate interests and legal requirements.
The web book creation form requires confirmation of acceptance of the legal terms. When a photo is uploaded, consent to its processing is confirmed separately. Uploading a photo is permitted only where the user has the right to use and provide it to create the Book.
The separate consent to processing photos and associated personal data is published at https://taleown.com/en/photo-consent/. Use of the Software is governed by the offer at https://taleown.com/en/offer/.
11. Disclosure to third parties and overseas processing
The Operator may disclose data to third parties or engage them to process data where necessary to operate the service:
- payment providers and banks when an available payment option is selected, including Robokassa if that method is available and selected;
- providers of hosting, server infrastructure, file storage and backups;
- the AI gateway and AI infrastructure providers for text and image generation and output quality checks;
- providers of email delivery, error diagnosis and technical support; email infrastructure processes the recipient’s address, one-time codes, system message text and the generated cover, while original children’s photos are not attached to emails;
- analytics and marketing technology providers only after the corresponding user consent;
- public authorities where required by law.
Processing may involve overseas infrastructure and disclosure to external AI providers through the gateway. Data is shared to the extent needed to perform the relevant function. External providers’ rules and actual practices for retention, training and deletion may differ from Taleown’s server-side rules; automatic deletion by providers is not guaranteed.
12. Security measures and deletion
The Operator uses organizational and technical safeguards: HTTPS, verification of access to the library and orders, restricted administrative access, and separation of private materials from public pages.
Individual books can be deleted in the library. To request deletion of an account and associated data, email taleown@kayukov.com. Confirmation of control over the account email address may be required to verify the request.
Deletion from the active library and server storage does not mean that all backup and external copies are immediately deleted. Automatic backup expiry has not yet been configured; deletion by external AI providers has not been confirmed and is not guaranteed by this document.
13. Rights of personal data subjects
The user may obtain information about the processing of their data, request its correction, restriction or destruction, withdraw consent, and submit a complaint to Roskomnadzor or a court.
To exercise these rights, email taleown@kayukov.com with a description of the request. If the request concerns a particular Book, you may provide the account email address and the Book or order identifier. Do not send your password or one-time sign-in code.
Withdrawal of consent does not invalidate processing carried out before the withdrawal was received. Processing or storage may continue where another legal basis exists, within the scope of applicable law.
15. Final provisions
The Policy takes effect upon publication on the Website and applies until replaced by a new version. The Operator may update the Policy when the service, infrastructure or legal requirements change.
